When introducing a cutting-edge biotech ingredient to the global market, export sales representatives must act as regulatory consultants and formulation guides, not just price quoters. Yesterday afternoon, Boweixin Biotech’s Regulatory Affairs and Export Sales teams hosted an internal workshop focused on “AKK Global Market Access and Dosage Formulation.”
The session opened with a regulatory briefing on the current status of AKK in major global markets.
“When pitching to US clients, we must emphasize that our pasteurized AKK manufacturing process strictly follows FDA GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) self-affirmation standards,” explained our Regulatory Specialist. “For European buyers, we need to proactively supply comprehensive toxicological data to support their EFSA Novel Food compliance processes.”
Beyond regulations, downstream buyers often face challenges incorporating the raw powder into consumer-ready products. To address this, our Formulation Engineer circulated sample capsules created in our application lab.
“AKK powder is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture). If our clients are formulating hard capsules, we must advise them to use low-moisture HPMC (vegetarian) capsule shells rather than traditional gelatin, which can cause the powder to clump,” the engineer noted while drawing a formulation matrix on the whiteboard. “Furthermore, if they are purchasing the live strain, recommend enteric-coated capsules. This protects the bacteria from stomach acid, ensuring it reaches the lower gut intact.”
