The Biosynthesis Lab —— “How can we utilize plant-derived agricultural coproducts to replace petroleum inputs in synthesizing Ambroxan and Vanillin?” This Wednesday, Boweixin Biotech’s chemical research division and fermentation supervisors met to discuss the industrial scale-up of bio-based aroma ingredients.
As consumer brands expand their sourcing of low-carbon inputs, developing green chemistry processes has become a strategic priority for Boweixin.
At the workshop, our Lead Chemist reviewed progress in enzymatic synthesis:
“By using modified enzymes as catalysts in aqueous solutions at mild temperatures, we reduced heavy metal catalyst and organic solvent use by 85%. This simplifies waste management and ensures the finished product aligns with EU green labeling standards.”
The technical team also discussed engineering solutions to address shear-stress damage to biological cultures in our larger production vessels, with our fermentation leads proposing adjustments to our impeller designs.
“This meeting helps guide our engineering roadmap for the coming years,” noted our General Manager. Investing in sustainable chemistry supports our clients’ eco-friendly sourcing goals while reinforcing Boweixin’s focus on responsible, modern chemical manufacturing.
